Being vintage obsessed, I decided to launch a vintage clothing line and being me… I couldn't wait, I had to start ASAP! My aim is to create an affordable vintage collection, that fits into everyones style. I planned a look book shoot, with the talented photographer, Maria Dragan and Hair & MUA Kylee Larissa. My particular style, combined with the 'surprisingly' dull english weather, determined the theme of the shoot. I wanted it to be individual and quirky. We chose models and sisters Elsa & Chloe, although they have a contrast in their look, they also appear to have a huge connection in the photos! The day was an early start, so whilst the models went straight to hair and makeup I kept a much needed coffee by my side, (this meant I stayed awake, avoiding styling the models awfully)…

Kylee chose smokey, dark eyes and red lips on the models and handcrafted head pieces to match the grunge style of the shoot. I combined the vintage clothing with high street accessories, to show how you can wear the pieces day-to-day. I was prepping in Oxford St, when I fell in love with a 'Topshop Unique' rooster feather 'shoulder-thingy', however it was wayyy above my budget for the shoot, but I found the exact same piece on ebay for crazy cheap!
This has definitely been my favourite shoot, however I'm already excited to style for my summer collection and finally get to see some skin and if you're really lucky, COLOUR! I'll keep you updated on when the vintage line will be out, in the meantime I'm giving my followers a chance to buy the vintage clothing, if you're interested if anything email 'marina@marinadebuchi.com', but they are selling quick, so get there first! M x

ST PATRICKS DAY - STYLING FOR A GUINNESS PROMO VIDEO

I recently assisted costume designer and stylist, Bex Crofton-Atkins, for a St Patricks themed, Guinness advert! It was two days of filming, in Black Island Studios, West London. We styled around 50 actors and extras...I don't think I've actually ever seen so many green clothes in my life, but I guess it wasn't hard to colour coordinate everything…
A part of my job was to work on set...when I wasn't looking after the tray of doughnuts and cakes next to me, I was making sure the actors were in their costumes and checking everyone was de-labeled, de-haired and de-flied (making sure there flies were done up) ect.
The last day was the messiest one, when the "Guinness" (black goo) was exploding everywhere…
this is the point that I majorly envied the actor's roles…not. We had to buy two of each outfit, so once one had been ruined, they could change for re-takes, meaning we had a crazy amount of clothes in the costume department! After the two days filming, only hearing the irish and american accents, I ended up picking up a mixture of the two and smelling like Guinness (achieving funny looks on the way home).

P.S It would mean SO much if you could take a second nominate me for the

VIBRANT VINTAGE

This shoot was for vintage clothing company BONBON. As I was also modelling with my 'model boyfriend' Jamie, the outfits had to be styled to match… however, I wouldn't call this shoot as 'matching' I would say it's more of a 'vibrant tie dye explosion' ...kinda thing.
As 99.99% of my clothes are black, this shoot pretty much blinded me (but in a good way). It wasn't the most practical idea shooting the summer collection in winter, being freezing cold with goosebumps and pretending to be 'ready for the sunshine' it wasn't an easy look to achieve!
We styled a clashing combination of gold, hot pink and purple on the top half and downplayed the rest of the outfit with duller beige/grey tones. In my opinion more couples should co-ordinate outfits like this! I will be blogging more of BONBON, so keep a watch out and for more vintage clothing, check out BONBON's clothing site here

WINTER '13

    SHOOT ONE

FINAL IMAGES

(Fur Coat - Vintage, Embellished Dress - All Saints)

SHOOT TWO

FINAL IMAGES

(Fur Coat - Miss Selfridge, Fringed Dress & Boots - Topshop)

I teamed up with fashion photographer Maria Dragan and MUA Kylee Larissa, and planned a winter themed shoot! As the stylist, I chose two completely different outfits to add some variation to the shoot. Being a vintage shoot, I knew I had to use fur and dug out a gorgeous antarctic, white fur coat, that I had bought from a vintage shop ages ago. However, I have never trusted myself with it, as I knew I would spill ketchup or something on it… Since I had already chosen to risk my clumsiness and wear the fur, I chose a gold embellished dress, that was a STEAL (not literally) from All Saints.
The location of the shoot was a field... fortunately for me, I was modelling bare legged... in the rain…wearing a fur coat, which meant I looked like a drowned polar bear. It was also freezing, hence my frozen facial expression in the pictures, that lasted the rest of the day. MUA Kylee Larissa gave me dramatic smokey eyes, with subtle gold to match the outfit and used a natural shade for the lips. The first image won "Best Hair" on Inspired Magazine!

For the second outfit, I aimed for an edgy, grungy look. Last summer I went through a crazy obsession of buying anything fringed or with tassels, but 99.9% of it I never wore, purely because the tassels would get caught on something/someone and I would get embarrassed and want to run away… but I couldn't able to…because I was caught. ANYWAY, I thought this dress would be perfect (for the use of a photo shoot only) so I matched it with a black fur coat and cowboy, buckled boots from Topshop. And just when I thought it was all over…The photographer (Maria Dragan) informed me that she was eager to get a shot of me modelling, but this time with a rabbit... Which somehow led to me climbing in a rabbit cage, crawling around trying to grab the rabbit, whilst sat in rabbit poo. One hour, many scratches and a ruined outfit later, I eventually managed to get a shot with the evil bunny and survived it! Despite everything, we did get some final shots and will be working on another shoot together soon,

I'll keep you all updated, M x

STYLING @ THE NTA

THE NTA REHEARSALS
Professional Dancers: All Dress's - (ASOS) Boots - (H&M)
Ashley & Pudsey/Dancers Rehearsals

NTA Red Carpet
Backstage with Holly Willoughby
Spencer & Louise Backstage
The London O2 - Taken Backstage
Personal Style: Tweed dress - (Pop @ Urban Outfitters), Ivory Shirt - (H&M) Chains & Boots - (Topshop)

The day began at a early start, with a trip to Oxford St to pick up some last minute items, then straight to the London O2 to prepare the performers for the National TV Awards. I assisted stylist Nina Andersson in styling the dancers, drummers and britain's got talent winners, Ashleigh and Pudsey (unfortunately we didn't get to style the dog, as he wanted to be naked for the performance). The day consisted of dressing the performers and making sure everyone was dressed, and on time for the show. I was lucky to have a preview of the rehearsals between the work and managed to grab a cheeky opportunity to see the red carpet and a have glass of Rosè backstage (but kept it minimal, to avoid the temptations of running on stage during the show).
The professional dancers were styled in vibrant dresses, made up of bold orange, red and pinks, with metallic, silver boots, so that they really stood out on stage. I wore a 60's inspired tweed, vintage dress, as no matter what occasion I always am keen to dress up, but the ivory shirt with the tweed added a professional, smart look to the  outfit. I paired the dress with some loyal Topshop heeled ankle boots, as although I knew I was going to be running around on my feet all day, they never give up on me and are incredibly comfy! Towards  the evening, I changed into a black, cut out, Julien Macdonald dress for the show and after party... so I looked a that bit more presentable, in comparison to everyone surrounding me!

I've been constantly busy recently working on shoots, but I've managed to find the time to work with a graphic designer on my business cards... cannot wait to throw them at everyone! (Not literally).
I will keep you updated and I AM going to blog more consistently... starting from now. M x

ISOBEL WEBSTER PRINT

(Crop Tops - Urban Outfitters, Topshop, American Apparel, Vintage, Shoes - Schuh, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Vintage Jewellery - Topshop, Vintage)

I recently met designer Isobel Webster at the Secret Emporium press night, Isobel has designed custom catsuits for Jessie J, so I was really excited to find out I would be working on a shoot with her!
I took the role of modelling and styling the video shoot to promote her new collection. Since I was asked to style the shoot only a couple of days before, I had to get out and hunt down some pieces! The shoot was influenced by 90's Versace, I created a collage of images to give me inspiration for potential outfits. I chose to only use crop tops, as it was important to not distract attention away from the leggings. I chose to mix up the shoes and use various different styles, to show the catsuits and leggings are wearable in the day or night! I was styling 3 other models, as well as myself and by the end of the shoot we didn't want to take the catsuits and leggings off! As the video shoot involved endless dancing, we repeatedly put on Azeaila Banks and of course the photos above are all from the start, as by the end we were all red and sweaty.
Isobel Webster's film will be out just before February 2013, check out her website here!
